What the status means
“Crawled – currently not indexed” indicates that Google fetched the page but did not include it in the index at the time of the report. Requesting another crawl may not help when the underlying content or canonical signals remain unchanged.
Review content uniqueness
Compare the page with other URLs on the same site. Boilerplate location pages, copied product descriptions, thin tag archives, near-identical programmatic pages, and syndicated text may not justify separate index entries. Consolidate duplicates or add substantial page-specific value.
Check for soft errors
A page can return 200 while behaving like a missing, empty, expired, or doorway page. Make sure the primary content loads reliably, the title and H1 match the page purpose, and the page does not present an error message inside a successful response.
Align canonical signals
Inspect the declared canonical, selected canonical in Search Console, redirects, sitemap entry, and internal links. Conflicting signals can cause Google to index another URL or exclude the submitted version.
Improve intent satisfaction
The page should answer a distinct user need more completely than its closest alternatives. Add original explanations, examples, evidence, screenshots, comparisons, or tools where they genuinely improve usefulness. Avoid padding a thin page with repetitive generic text.
Recommended sequence
- Confirm stable rendering and intended content.
- Compare the page against near-duplicates.
- Consolidate or canonicalize overlapping URLs.
- Improve the page’s distinct purpose and information gain.
- Add relevant internal links from established pages.
- Request a crawl once, then monitor the result.
